Mark Menjivar’s participatory exhibition with Cantor Fitzgerald Gallery at Haverford College explores capital punishment in the United States. Similar to The Legacy of Lynching, the map is enlisted to carry the visual identity. But this time, states with inmates on death row are highlighted, and there is a reference here to clouds and sky. This comes from Menjivar’s friend and artistic collaborator on death row, Rickey Cummings, who writes of what he sees from his cell window.
