Summit at Venice Biennale

The 2015 Creative Time Summit: The Curriculum at La Biennale di Venezia, 56th International Art Exhibition, All the World’s Futures, was the seventh iteration of Creative Time’s vanguard conference on art and social justice. Its inclusion in La Biennale di Venezia–a prestigious but nonetheless institutionalized, global art fair—is as complex as the Summit’s subject matter. I was involved in developing and executing the Summit’s identity through the website, printed catalogue, on-stage visuals, and wayfinding. In its earlier form, the conference identity changed dramatically from year to year, but recently the differentiation has manifested in graphical elements associated with the subtitle. “The Curriculum”, in its many forms and interpretations, is disected from many points of view–an idea that informs the logo and repeating line-gradient elements.
