Gary Kuehn: In Situ

I had the privilege of working on the exhibition materials for this show. Gary Kuehn's work is raw, tangible, and often evokes humor, while at other times it can feel alienating. Despite his minimal aesthetic, there’s a strong sense of humanism that I aimed to capture in the visual identity and marketing collateral. Designing the catalog—interweaving curator Sid Sachs's essay with images of Kuehn's work—was a particularly rewarding experience. I also created light pole banners, postcards, social assets, and more.

From Cantor Fitzgerald Gallery: “Gary Kuehn: In Situ, curated by Sid Sachs, marks one of the largest survey exhibitions in the United States of the renowned American sculptor. Developing structures beyond simple Minimalism, Kuehn utilizes everyday materials such as twigs, tar, wood, and fiberglass to create evocative sculptures that lean, sag, or sit on the floor like real objects in the world.”
